We’ve reached the last page now! Our guest book is like an antique jewel which has lived proudly through time, and at over 70 years of age with about 10,000 entries, the book is a special witness to our history. Its very first entry goes back to 7 July, 1949, and since then, many of our guests have left kind words, drawings and photos. It’s a pleasure to leaf through it, and we have cherished it and looked after it over the years… thank you, dear guests!
The house was built in 1912-14 by the great-grandfather of the present owner as a holiday home for city children. Immediately after completion, the First World War broke out and made it impossible to put the house into operation. As a result, the new house was converted and only occupied as a private residence until the end of the Second World War.
The Jenal guesthouse was opened on 7 July 1949 and the original guestbook with this first entry is still available in the hotel today.
In 1994, the hotel was completely renovated with a large extension and reconstruction, and the name was changed to Hotel Laret.
In recent years, all rooms have again been completely renovated, the number of rooms has been reduced to a total of 15 units and the restaurant, which was previously open to the public, has been made accessible only to house guests.
Since then, it has been run as LARET private Boutique Hotel - Adults only by the great-granddaughter of the builder and her husband
